Ballantine ran alongside Bantam in the 1970s, handling the Animated Series. Alan Dean Foster’s ten Star Trek Logs novelised the TAS episodes, frequently padding the half-hour stories out into fuller, stranger pieces than the cartoons had room for. The licence passed to Pocket in 1979.
